Book shaped dinner plates –  Eating on book shaped dinner plates is the perfect way to bring your books to life especially those classic titles that contain memorable recipes!

The idea came to my mind last night when I reached for a book that contains a description for one of most memorable treats from days gone by – the delicate madeleine.

Swing by the family bake shop for more sweet treats!

Serve Themed Dinners On Book Shaped Dinner Plates

Three years ago, summer camp at Grandma’s house was all about themes.   We discussed this, that and eventually came around to their summer reading list,.  It included Harry Potter books.  Grandma was one step ahead of the game that summer having purchased a copy of the unofficial Harry Potter cookbook .

The boys selected dozens of recipes from the Harry Potter® cook book.  “Grandma, could you make the sausage roll or maybe Bangers ‘N Mash for dinner tonight?”

Imagine elevating that experience by serving the meal on open book shaped dinnerware that is dishwasher, oven and microwave safe!

The Harry Potter® cookbook is ideal for meals during the Halloween season as it contained dozens of scrumptious recipes.  But, there are dozens of equally yummy recipes waiting to be discovered in the pages of your favorite books.

  • How many recipes can you name from the pages of your favorite books?
  • What’s the formula for a memorable book club meeting?  Yes!

There are many disposable shaped paper plates available for themed parties.  You will even find fish shaped porcelain dishes,  and fan shaped glass platters.  How unusual would it be to serve an entire meal on plates and platters in the shape of a book?

Perfect Recipes From Famous Books

I love to spend time with a good book, great friends, glass of wine, maybe Gatsby’s champagne cocktail and gourmet cheeses served on book shaped plates.

I would also vote for a platter full of delicate madeleines for dessert but I know the boys would opt for a chilled mug of butterbeer and a plate of sausage rolls!  A meal of Bangers and Mash would be perfect too.
